A Little Witchy Review: Nelson's Tea

Updated: Oct 11, 2021

In my tea learning journey, I have discovered that I am a strong black tea lover. I have also discovered I like strong fruit flavors. This company has mastered both. I am starting to shorten the reviews because I have so many now. I won't shorten this one, though. This review is a joy to do because this company has superior personalized customer service with wonderful products touched with love.

Tea is not necessarily about the flavor -

but more about the experience.

I can across this shop on before I even knew how much I liked tea. I have learned so much about tea now...from this store!!!

The watermelon mint jumped out at me.

(Ingredients: Green Rooibos, spearmint, echinacea, linden leaf, coriander, Safflower, eucalyptus, natural flavoring.)

Being a chef and herbalist, I love putting flavors together you wouldn't think of. This sounded like something I would do. I was intrigued and ordered a sample.

The watermelon mint feels cool and warm at the same time... if that makes sense. Simple...yet complicated. You get a hint of all the flavors at different times. That is a party on your tongue!! I'm hooked!

The order was delivered super fast and came with a sample of black Lavender Earl Grey tea!

Ingredients: Black tea, lavender cornflower petals, natural flavor

They had me at lavender, actually!! The lavender tea is a different feel completely. It feels like you are in a flower garden with a water element.

It is balanced, well-flavored, and is very soothing. I drink this to relax before meditation.

I had just bought a sampler and they sent me a full free sample. I was a first-time buyer as well. They treated me like royalty. That is great business 101!!!!

That sounds CRAZY, right????

Can there be old-fashioned great customer

service............ on the internet?

Wait...... It gets better. I reached out to the company for a collaboration.

I was answered quickly and eagerly. She gladly sent me samples.

Let me say this before I go further. This is not just a tea company. I have bought:

They are fragrant and just as much love and care was put into these as the teas!!

Nelson's sent me a generous box of samples for review. Honestly.... there was not one tea in the box that I didn't like.

I will list the samples sent below with a description of how they made me feel. I do "feel" more than flavor profiles. I am still new to tea However, the feeling is what I look for first anyway. A tea may be healthy for you and may not taste great. I am intuitive, so that is how I describe a tea. (and food for that matter) Here we go...

(I saved my favorite for last!!)

Ingredients: Green Rooibos, spearmint, echinacea, linden leaf, coriander, and eucalyptus

This tea is meant for soothing and relaxing. The mint is cool.

The eucalyptus adds an unexpected finish. I only added agave sweetener with a squeeze of fresh lemon. It needed nothing more. I drink Mint Melange after a hard day or before meditation.

Ingredients: Apple, pineapple, green rooibos, cranberry, hibiscus, marigold, safflower, and natural flavoring

This tea makes you feel like you are on a tropical island.

I had to add a little more tea than the directions stated. I like a strong flavor. This one is better cold...I think. The flavors pop over ice. I would even use it in a cocktail with a Jamaican rum. It is tropical tea for sure!! I drink Pineapple Melon Punch to lighten my mood.

Ingredients: Black tea, dried mango, cornflowers, marigold petals, safflower, and natural flavoring

This one surprised me. I'm not usually a mango fan. In this tea, though, it was really good. I like it iced with a bit of hibiscus syrup that I got from Gran Gala. Another fruity tropical island. I love Jamaican rums. Mango Passion Fruit is one I would make a cocktail with!

Ingredients: White tea, rose hips, dried blueberries, safflower, and natural fruit flavoring.

This is the strongest blueberry tea I have come across yet. It is bold and fruity. That is my favorite combination. It makes you feel like you are in a fruit orchard.

Light...airy..yet strong. That is funny coming from a white tea. But, Blueberry Pomegranate works. I love it!!

Ingredients: Green rooibos, ginger root, white tea, elderflower, cornflower, dried pears, and natural flavoring.

When I let Nelson's know that this is my favorite, she let me know that this one is not as popular as she had hoped.

It is just delightful!!! It feels like a sweet breeze on a private island. You can taste each ingredient blended perfectly. It is a quiet riot. It is my favorite tea of ALL the teas I have tested thus far. I will keep this in my collection as long as they make it.

The owner told me it tastes different over ice. I will try and let you know how it went.

To sum it up... I had no downside to this company or the tea... other than I can't go to the building!!! The customer service alone will keep me a customer and a fan. If you have the chance, check them out. You will not regret it. Thank you again, Nelson's Tea, for your passion and diligent work. You have something special and I will always sing your praises!!
